Brynley LaBara made her debut Wednesday morning at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. While Brynley’s mom, Jennifer, recovered Wednesday afternoon, her husband, Mike, slept on a couch in the hospital room. He was exhausted and completely unaware that an ice cream company from Holland, Michigan decided to kick off its new campaign to reward the unrecognized with free treats at Beaumont. But the couple’s son, Paul, was up for it. Sporting a T-shirt announcing his new status as big brother, the toddler posed for photographers as he dove into the ice cream while Brynley — and dad — dozed. (WXYZ) – Hudsonville Ice Cream, a family-owned company based in Holland, is calling on metro Detroiters to help create the next flavor of its artisan-crafted ice cream through the Flavor of Detroit Contest. It’ll run from May 1-26. To enter, individuals should visit https://www.facebook.com/Hudsonvilleicecream/ and look for Hudsonville’s post announcing the contest to enter through the official contest form on Facebook. Contest entries must include a flavor combination and name that best capture the spirit of Detroit.
